Crafting an identity for an upmarket yet approachable patisserie

Garden Gateau is an online bakery business with a focus on fresh and seasonal ingredients. Their pastry creations exude a simple elegance, a result of rigorous recipe testing and dedicated craftsmanship.  The logo takes inspiration from ornate cake stands whilst alluding to the tablecloths of classic French restaurants. The wordmark uses Fraunces: a soft serif typeface that feels premium yet approachable.

Alongside the brand identity I was also responsible for product photography and social media content creation. Working with a local small business like Garden Gateau was incredibly rewarding and refreshing and allowed me to take a brand from conception to roll-out across digital and print.
